Community of Hope Annual Report

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” Psalm 68:19 NKJV

For the year 2013-14, Community of Hope has been blessed daily with God’s great provisions: His love to share, physical items such as food, clothes, furniture and thousands of opportunities to serve and witness for Christ! Just as the verse said, “Blessed be our Lord – for this year God has allowed us to serve 3,562 families through Hope Food Ministry. We distributed 95,810 pounds of food through our ministry plus two mobile food pantries AND had 26 people accept Christ as their personal Savior! Through our tutoring ministry, summer missions, and evangelistic block parties 46 men, women and children also came to know the Lord!

During our summer program at Olympia Clubhouse, we challenged the children to be there every week and to learn the ABC’s of scripture. They would be rewarded with a free trip to the zoo for good attendance and a chance to win either a girls’ or boys’ bike for learning the most Bible verses. We had 48 children go to the zoo and we praise the Lord for four of these children accepting Christ as Savior when we shared the gospel during lunch! Marianna won the girl’s bike and Michael won the boy’s bike!

We praise God for individuals, churches and businesses who gave so generously to make all this possible – to God be the glory!

At our Hayneville Road location, Alana Knight, our summer missionary, taught 30 girls about some of the names of God. This was is preparation for how much God loves them and has a plan for their life. Robin Dean taught them a song by Jamie Grace, “Every Bit of Lovely” which teaches them who they are in Christ! Each girl received their own CD by Jamie Grace because some generous people gave to Community of Hope! Eight of these girls came to know who God is through our study!

Bless the Lord, the God of our salvation who allows us to serve Him!
